My Therapy Approach...

My name is Natalka (she/her), and I offer counselling that feels grounded, comfortable, and human, the kind where we can sit cross-legged while you sip on a warm drink and take a deep breath as we move into the deeper work. Therapy can be a bit messy, so I focus on building a safe, attuned, and secure relationship with my clients so they can feel supported in truly being their authentic selves. I work primarily with adults and teens, and I also support older children (10+).

I do not believe that the mind and body are just connected. They are truly the same system. The work I do is deeply rooted in somatic approaches that support nervous system regulation and cultivate a felt sense of safety. Again and again, my clients remind me that the body holds an innate and profound capacity for healing when it is met with care, curiosity, and the right support. I am committed to helping my clients find a way to safety within themselves and to use the wisdom of their body to access the changes they are wanting to make in life. I work collaboratively and relationally. You are actively involved in shaping treatment decisions so that we work toward what is meaningful and supportive. I offer evidence-based therapeutic suggestions that are unique to you, and we can approach any intervention as an exploration, staying attuned to what matters most to you. I also enjoy integrating creative and expressive elements into therapy, including metaphor, movement, art, music, sandtray, mindfulness, and more.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years as a freelance contemporary dance artist, choreographer, and dance educator, a path that deeply shaped how I understand embodiment, expression, and healing. I still teach ballet several days a week. I am a neurodiversity-affirming therapist and bring both lived experience and practical tools to my work with clients with ADHD. As an ADHD mom who has navigated my own embodiment journeys (and who still wrestles with perfectionism at times), I understand how layered and non-linear healing can be. Outside of work, I love being in nature, practicing yoga, drinking coffee, and embracing my weakness for artisan donuts. I am in my homebody era, enjoying time with my very busy toddler, my partner, and our whippet.

I’m deeply committed to ongoing learning and regularly invest in training. Recent areas of study include Somatic Therapy for Complex Trauma, Introduction to the Hakomi Method, Internal Family Systems, and ADHD Clinical Certification. I am currently completing my Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery Certificate.
